About the race

A New Year tradition: 400 m in the Royal Commonwealth Pool, three laps of Arthur's Seat by bike (11 miles), then a 3.5-mile run lap of the same hill. A kids' duathlon runs on the same closed roads.

New Year's Day Triathlon takes place on Friday 1 January 2027 in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh, with Sprint on offer.

Open water events usually need a wetsuit below a set water temperature. Unlicensed athletes pay a small day licence fee.
